5 on Friday - Tech help

I have a long list of blog topics I want to write about, but finding time to sit down and write everything is proving difficult.

I end up getting distracted by one adorable baby :)

Also, I'm taking full advantage of my maternity leave and getting all of my annual dr's appointments done, running 1000 errands and spring cleaning the house.

Here are the 5 apps that are helping me keep everything in order.

First up - my favorite baby app
Sprout

I use this to track our nursing and now that we are working on a schedule I track his sleep as well.
The first two weeks I also used it to track my medicine and his diaper changes.
I also keep track of his weight and height and other fun moments.  It helps when my dr asks me a question and I can't remember!

My Roomba App!

God bless my husband for the best gift ever.  I wish I had gotten this years ago!
I have the vacuum scheduled 5 days a week.  During the first month I ran it twice a day to help it learn our floor plan quicker.
On the weekend, I'll tell our Echo to start a job as we are walking out the door (if we leave the house that is!)
There's something about vacuum lines in the carpet that is just so calming. :)

As mentioned above - My Echo
Specifically the Alexa app

I still don't utilize our Echo as much as I should, but I'm starting!
I love the list feature.  When I'm in the kitchen and realize we are running out of something, I just tell Echo to add it to the grocery list.
I also use the timer feature and alarm feature all the time.
Plus....ask for the weather 10 times a day.

4

My Fitness Pal

I love this app to not only track my weight gain (during pregnancy) and loss (postpartum) but to track my water consumption.

Now that I'm 6 weeks postpartum I'm tracking my food as well to get me back on track to healthy eating

And the best app ever.....

If you shop online and DON'T use Ebates you are MISSING OUT.
They pay you to shop online!  It's a no brainer!!

Use this link for $10 back - EBates - It Pays to Share!

I'm doing all the shopping I can online.
Granted I live in the boonies, so some of it is 'In Store Pickup' instead of free shipping, but hey - I'm earning money by buying our toilet paper online!

Walmart, Target, Amazon.  You name it, you can earn cash back on your purchase.
Buying diaper?  $$
Toothpaste? $$
Super cute matching outfits for the kids?  $$
If we had Wal-Mart curbside pickup, I'd totally do all our groceries that way too :)

#biggywigs - 1 month

#biggywigs | 1 MONTHS

nicknames | chunky monkey, monkey, baby boy, bear

weight |  a wild guess using the 'at home method' put you at 12 pounds and 23".  So I rounded down :)
6 week Update - 15 lbs 7 oz and 24 inches long!

size | You wore newborn in the hospital, 0-3 for the first two weeks, and now you're in 3-6 and some 6 month clothing.  You have a long torso - just like me and #wiggydiggy so some clothes are still a bit long in the arms and legs, but you need the extra room.

sleep |  You blessed me with a 7 hour stretch two nights ago!  Woo hoo!  Right now you usually give me a 4-5 hour stretch when you first go down at night and then you wake about every 2 1/2 hours after that to eat.  Naps during the day are all over the place.  We'll work on a schedule this month :)

eats | Milk, milk, and more milk.  All Breast milk all the time.  You are a furious and efficient eater.  You've been cluster feeding from about 4/5 until bedtime (around 8) every night.  During the day we nurse on demand.  Sometimes 45 minutes, sometimes 3 hours.

loves | Mom.  You want to be held by me over anyone else (not that I mind ;) )  Eating!  Ha.  Only time you really cry is when your hungry.

dislikes | Being hungry.  Being cold.  Being in your carseat and NOT moving.

firsts |  This whole month is firsts!  First sponge bath, first car ride, first show and tell (seriously, the CUTEST thing ever)

Momma | This first month has flown by.  I waited so long to meet you that I'm taking this time to soak up all of your wonderfulness.  I love you so much.

Memorial Weekend 2018

We normally go to Glacier National Park over Memorial Weekend.
This year we postponed our trip a few weeks ;)
Taking a two week old on a road trip just didn't sound like a good idea!

Instead we stayed close to home.  Our only road trip was to Canyon Ferry Lake for a little rock throwing (toddler's request) and the scenic route home through the mountains (my request).

Sunday morning we had newborn photos.  Justin headed out with his dad and brother to visit family in Northern Montana shortly after we finished.  Having both kiddos all afternoon went surprisingly smooth.  Bed time on the other hand.....not so much.  Blessed Justin came home only an hour after bedtime and helped get #wiggydiggy to sleep while I was nursing.

Monday was nice and quiet.  I spent my day with a baby in my arms and the big boys did some yard work.

Why can't every weekend be three day weekends?

5 on Friday - Current Necessities

It's a new stage of life around here :)
I know that this current chapter is short lived, though it's all encompassing.  These are the few essential items that help make this time easier.

1.

I used a Moby wrap with #wiggydiggy and loved it.  However the fabric is too thick for my spring baby.  I ordered the natural and grey striped one (in the photo) and it is SO soft.  I wear #babywigs often :)

2.
Next up might be a bit TMI
Unless you're a mom.

Thinnest, most comfortable ones out there.
If you have to wear a pad for weeks - might as well be comfortable ones!

3.

I love my glass bottle!  I keep this one and two others full at all times.  Nursing makes me extremely thirsty and the straw makes it possible to drink hands free.

4.
Nursing Cami's

I have two kinds.  The first are leftovers from #wiggydiggy.  They aren't my favorite (bottoms are too stretched out/flared out) but they get the job done while I'm at home.
The other is the Medela Slimming Nursing Cami.
I love how this one fits and washes up.
If fits great under other tops too.

5.

This is AMAZING!!

It was a Mother's Day gift and it has become the favorite gift of the year.  For both Justin and myself!
I've been running 'Ruby' twice a day on weekdays so that she can learn our floor plan inside and out before I go back to work.  We have a single story home and Ruby can get every room (except the sunken living room) in one battery charge now.

The surprising benefit of the Roomba has been how tidy we've become.  We can't leave things on the floor to block her path, so Justin and I make sure to pick up before bed and in the morning everyday.  Our carpets are clean and our house is neat!

It's also one less chore I have to figure out how to do :)
