Father's Day Recap

We had a relaxed weekend celebrating our #1 guy

We enjoyed the weather, went on walks, bike rides, and played in the backyard.  Which is exactly what Justin wanted.

The boys gifted him a print of Wrigley Stadium (Go Cubbies!) and I'm taking him to get it framed this week.

We love you Justin.
To the moon and back.

Workout Gear from Amazon

First off, I really really don't like cheap clothing.  You know the kind I'm talking about - the shirt that falls apart in the wash.  The pants that come out of the dryer with legs different lengths.  And so on and so forth.

That makes me really hesitant to buy clothing from Amazon.  But their Prime Wardrobe option has made it SO MUCH EASIER!

While I love my Athleta workout leggings, I just don't want to spend that much money on a pair of leggings that I wear to an hour class.  I've also had a hard time finding workout tops I like at Athelta.  Some of the fabrics just don't feel good to me.  (a texture/sensory thing?  I don't know)

I have some 90 Degrees by Reflex leggings from Amazon that are awesome, but I really needed another pair to round out my workout gear (and help cut down on needing to do laundry before Pilates), so I headed to Amazon to fill up my Prime Wardrobe and I ended up finding some awesome pieces.

First up
Core 10 High Waisted Legging

I purchased Black in a Small.
For size reference - I wear between a 27 and 28 in jeans or 4/6 in pants.  I almost could have gone with an XS, they run a little big.  (And this is not for my vanity.  I would NEVER buy an XS in anything, they are just very stretchy yet very supportive leggings)
And when they say High Waisted - they mean HIGH waisted.  They are by far the highest waist legging I own.

Postpartum mamas - I wish I had these after my babies, more than any other pair of leggings I own.

They've been washed 3 or 4 times now (never dried) and they look and feel brand new.

I went with Wine Red in Medium
You can seeing me wearing it in my previous Life Lately Post.

I have a long torso, so it hits me a little shorter than I'd like.  But if you are more evenly proportioned, it should fit just fine.

I love how soft the fabric is, and how the back isn't WIDE open, more of a hint.   It's washing up well and I feel like the quality exceeds the price.

Lastly
Core 10 Yoga Crop Top

I went with Teal in a Medium.  Now I thinking I need something in blush...

This top is a little outside my comfort zone, but I wanted something with long sleeves and it looked so cute on the model.

I also really like everyone at the Pilates Studio, and I knew I wouldn't really feel judged by them.  So I bit the bullet and added it to my Wardrobe.
I'm SO GLAD I DID.

It truly is light weight - so I don't worry about getting too hot in class when the weather outside requires a warmer wardrobe.  This is Montana - that means 9 months out of the year.
When I pair it with the Core 10 leggings, it doesn't even look like a crop top!

Do you have any workout gear favorites?

Life Lately

First up - this boy.

Oh my gosh, I can't even begin to describe how PROUD I am of him!  He's just making my heart burst at the seams.

Saturday morning I took him to a play date with his best pal at a local park.  While they were running around and having the best time, they would occasional pause to run up to the moms and ask "Can we have a sleepover?"  Then run off before we could answer!  haha.

We discussed it, and that night worked out perfectly.  #wiggydiggy had his first sleepover at a friends house!  (It should be noted that this friend has two older brothers that they adore, so they were spoiled rotten with fun)

I'll admit, I was so worried that he wasn't ready.  That maybe his behavior would be less than stellar or even to the point of not being invited back.  Parenting is such a mine field.  Should I have worried about that?  Maybe not all of it.  I want to make sure that I'm instilling the behaviors and manners into my son that will help him navigate life confidently.

This first sleepover was a success.
I cried.  Tears of gratitude, tears of relief, and tears of sadness that my baby is growing up.

Then there's this mischievous munchkin.

Oh my lord, is this child keeping me on my toes!  He is so FUNNY.  and very very mischievous.

It really is amazing how two children can be so different.
While they both love to destroy my kitchen, #biggywigs sticks to pulling everything out and then scurrying away.  #wiggydiggy was content to sit and play with the destruction he made.  haha.

He is also thisclose to walking!!  The most he's walked has been 5 steps, but he tries All.Day.Long. to walk everywhere.  I can't wait!

We've had gorgeous weekends, followed by rainy and cool weekends.  On the days we can sit outside and soak up some warmth, we are glued to our patio.

We still have some yard work to do, but it has come such a long way in 6 years.

I'm also excited that I'm back into working out regularly!
I took a break from my favorite studio (Core Connections, LLC here in Helena) until I had my lunch breaks back.
#biggywigs stopped his lunch time nursing Mother's Day weekend, so I took a week off (just in case I needed to go in) and then started Pilates again!  My goal is three days a week right now.  Once I'm used to it again, I'll try and go daily if I can make a class.

Proving to my husband I'm at class.  haha.

Side note - any good suggestions for shorts to wear to class?  I love my 7/8 length workout pants, but with summer coming they may be too hot.   And yes, we do use the reformer board, so I need shorts that aren't loose (i.e. you can't accidentally see up them.)
