Weekend Recap(s)

The last week of May is flying by and I'm in denial.
#biggywigs is 1 (I'm still in shock over this) and summer is looming.
Though, in the Rocky Mountains, summer may not show up until July.  Maybe August, if at all.  We may just go straight into Fire/Smoke season.  I'll enjoy the 70's for as long as possible.

#biggywigs birthday party was the 18th.  My parents and nephew made the LONG trip north to celebrate our special little boy.
Cousins and Grandpa playing

The theme was Teddy Bear Picnic.  The weather had other plans.  Rainy and 50.  Yuck.
1st birthday parties are the only party where family and friends are invited.  Otherwise we have a small party with friends and dinner with family.  That meant our house was packed full, noisy, and full of love for our little one.

Thankfully the rain had let up for a bit so the kids could run around the yard.  Unfortunately some of the big kids kept opening the gate to run around the front yard......not easily seen by parents or passing cars.  So I bumped up cake/cupcakes ASAP to get everyone inside.

No surprise that the cupcake was devoured.  DEVOURED.

The next morning my parents and nephew headed home from their quick trip north.  I finished cleaning the house and we spent the day at home, listening to the rain, and making plans for our annual Glacier trip over Memorial Day Weekend.

I love being in the Flathead Valley in the Spring.  The rivers and lakes are as full as they'll be all year.  You can see waterfalls on every mountain and everything is so green.

This year is rained most of the time we were there, which is my favorite kind of weather.  With two small kids, we only went into the park on Sunday to hike/walk Trail of the Cedars.  I'm hoping we can do Avalanche Lake next year.  #wiggydiggy needs to be a little better at listening before we head that deep into Bear County.

I also only took one photo.  We all slept in one BIG bed.
Even though we had a pack n play for #biggywigs, he wouldn't sleep unless he was next to us!

Unplugging was the best vacation.

Now.....Welcome June!!

Happy Monday

This month is flying by.  Justin and I are both very busy at work, I had my first trip of the year (shout out to CapeAir from Billings to Glendive!) and a travel schedule that's getting quite a bit fuller.

A year ago this weekend we were busy starting yard work and prepping for the arrival of Baby #2.
This weekend we started yard work and marveled at our two boys.

We found an great deal on some patio furniture online, so we headed to Lowe's to buy some pots and other accessories to deck out our back patio.
I can't stomach spending anymore on patio furniture while the boys are still so young (and destructive!) but I still want something durable and sturdy.  I hope these fit the bill!  I am planning on picking up some more cushions for them too.

#biggywigs 1st birthday party is a Teddy Bear Picnic (fingers crossed we have nice weather!) so we are trying to get the back yard done before B-Day.

OF COURSE it had to snow on Sunday, so we focused our energy on online shopping as much as we could.  I had no desire to leave the house in the blizzard like conditions.  The remaining guest room items are all on their way, along with the rest of the back patio decor.

We also ordered #biggywigs 1st birthday present.
I fully expect #wiggydiggy to play with it JUST as much!

Weekend Review

Negative temps are (mostly) behind us!

We had a wonderful weekend soaking up the sunshine and catching up with friends we haven't seen in months (thanks cooties)

My favorite view these days - his tush as he crawls away to explore :)

Little Man was so excited to see his buddy that he had to wait outside!
The boys were SO BUSY that I never even got a picture.

I had a last minute, urgent, shopping trip with a girl friend Saturday night.  She was in need of a particular item and wanted my eyes to help.  In the process I found myself a pair of shoes at one of our stops at TJ Maxx.
Now I'm ready for warm weather so I can rock them!

Second playdate on Sunday!

My in-laws came over for Sunday dinner.
I captured this photos of #biggywigs holding his dad and grandpas hands during dessert.
😍

Bedtime laughs

We prep for Daylight Saving Time starting the Thursday before.  In the spring we start pushing the bedtime routine back a half hour, then a full hour.  Come Sunday morning, we're on our regular schedule.

Weekend in photos

We are quickly wrapping up the flooring!  WOO!

Justin had Monday off (thanks Columbus) and he spent the day putting our baseboard trim in.  He still has a bit to do, but it looks so good.

Saturday morning #biggywigs and I ran a few errands.
First up was to a girlfriends house to drop some baby clothes off.
My 4 1/2 month old is handing down size 12 month clothes to her 11 month old.
Please stop growing #biggywigs
She treated us to some homemade goodies!!
The pumpkin roll and sugar cookies were gone in less than 24 hours.  DELICIOUS.

After naps, we headed off to #wiggydiggy's best friends birthday party.

Sunday we had a blast at church.  I volunteered in the nursery and it was a baby haven!  All 4 month old boys too :)
Then we came home and cleaned the house. #boring
I'd say we're about 90% done.  We still have some rugs and furniture coming from Wayfair and Overstock.  I cannot wait to take photos of the finished product.

Now I just need to decide what light fixtures and fans I want.  Decisions, decisions.

Happy Tuesday!

Memorial Weekend 2018

We normally go to Glacier National Park over Memorial Weekend.
This year we postponed our trip a few weeks ;)
Taking a two week old on a road trip just didn't sound like a good idea!

Instead we stayed close to home.  Our only road trip was to Canyon Ferry Lake for a little rock throwing (toddler's request) and the scenic route home through the mountains (my request).

Sunday morning we had newborn photos.  Justin headed out with his dad and brother to visit family in Northern Montana shortly after we finished.  Having both kiddos all afternoon went surprisingly smooth.  Bed time on the other hand.....not so much.  Blessed Justin came home only an hour after bedtime and helped get #wiggydiggy to sleep while I was nursing.

Monday was nice and quiet.  I spent my day with a baby in my arms and the big boys did some yard work.

Why can't every weekend be three day weekends?

Mother's Day 2018

Mother's Day was very low-key this year.

Friday was Muffins with Mom at #wiggydiggy's school.
Man I love that kid.

Side note - a good eye cream?  I need some great suggestions.

We never planned to be pregnant this long!  Haha.
I was treated to breakfast in bed after getting to 'sleep in'.

Really - I had to go out to the couch around 2 AM because of contractions/back pain. I couldn't fall back asleep until 5 AM so Justin was kind enough to encourage me to move back to our bed around 630 and sleep until I woke up :)

#wiggydiggy even signed his card!!
I'll treasure that one forever.

I took an extra long shower.
Hot water > Back pain

Then we went for coffee and walked laps around Home Depot.
The weather has been swinging back and forth and we've delayed planting anything in the pots.  I did decide on what I want to put in the window boxes and planters on Sunday.
Fingers crossed this baby arrives this week so I can spend next week planting in between nursing sessions :)

Then I took a three hour nap and the rest of the day was just lazy.
Exactly how I wanted it.

I HAVE to mention my gift this year.
Well......I got another vacuum for Mother's Day!
haha.

I've been on the fence wanting a Roomba (or something similar) for the past year or so.
Justin bit the bullet for me and this beauty arrives today!

I still use my stick vacuum almost daily and I can't wait to have this sucker run every single day after we leave for work.  I *may* be a little excited ;).

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend Wrap up

 We finally had spring weather!
And by spring weather, I mean no snow.
Today it's snowing.

Friday night was a picnic dinner outside and the inaugural fire pit lighting!  Yay for mid 60's!!

Saturday morning #wiggydiggy and I headed out the door to run a few errands and then spend some time soaking up sunshine at the park.  I took 0 pictures and we had the very best time.

Our happy little boy was wiped after his park play and took an excellent nap after lunch.  Justin was busy doing his yard work errands and prepping for the big spring clean up.  However, after nap time the wind really picked up so we played inside until dinner time.

Sunday morning was church.  Per usual.
Sunday after nap we lucked out with no wind and mid 60's again.  Hallelujah!
I scheduled maternity pictures back in December, but we were thinking everything would be MUCH greener by now.
Instead, none of us were really in the mood for a long photo session.  Our photographer is a Rock Star and we busted out photos in under 45 minutes.  #wiggydiggy scored a few minutes in the park playing while I did some solo pictures at the end.

A Sneak Peek - I stole this from her facebook page

Lil man was such a trooper!  I wore the same dress and heels I wore for #wiggydiggy's maternity pictures.  So sweet.

That afternoon I sat my super pregnant butt into a lawn chair and soaked up some sun.
#wiggydiggy was busy hunting for bugs and Justin started on some yard work.

We had another picnic dinner and headed indoors just in time to get a notification of "rain starting in your area in 15 minutes"
We woke up to snowflakes falling.
GGGRRRR

Fingers crossed that the foretasted 70's actually show up this week!  I'm ready to break in our new stroller on some evening walks before #babywigs arrives in a few weeks.

Happy Monday!

What's in My Bag

We had a low-key weekend.  Justin is sick (after sailing through our flu, HFM, sinus infection mess of January, I'm shocked a cold hit him in March!) so #wiggydiggy and I had lots of quality time running errands.

While we were checking out at the grocery store, an employee one checkout line over yelled, "Hey, It's the Bag Lady!" while pointing at me.

Cue awkward laugh.

The gal checking me out starts laughing and tells me its because of the reusable bags I carry in my purse.  A few employees are interested in the brand and how I fold them up so small!

Best Christmas Present I got this year!

When we got home I decided to quick clean out my purse (and find my smallest Baggu Bag).
Only two more months before I change back to my diaper bag purse and add in the baby's bag.
WOAH.

Navy Michael Kors bag from TJMaxx.  I love it because it's easy to clean.
My view into my purse

Long Weekend

I ended up having a 5 day weekend.  Justin is currently having a 4 day weekend.
After 5 days cooped up in the house with #wiggydiggy, I am so excited to be back at work today.

Thanks Influenza A.
Not.

Poor bug :(  It broke my heart how badly he felt.  Nothing but cuddles for four days straight.

Poor nugget felt the absolute worst Friday and Saturday.  He has bursts of energy now, but they are quickly followed by coughing fits and the need to lay down for a bit.

(Can I mention how much I hate our floors?  I hate them.  HATE THEM)

He's had more screen time than we normally allow.  However, that's the perk of being sick.  We are loving the new Kindle Fire that #wiggydiggy recieved for Christmas.  I did have to spend a solid 30 minutes going through and setting parental settings on apps and videos.
Yes, I know, we're strict.  He's only allowed a very limited number of shows and apps.  I love the timer feature too.  He already knows that when he gets the 'orange screen' his time is up.

I'm so grateful that the only symptom I had was a head cold.  Tamiful seems to have knocked it down and Justin lucked out with no symptoms at all.

I have big plans to Lysol the entire house again tonight.

Fingers crossed that our little guy is back to his normal self by tomorrow!
