Five on Friday - Following Up

Did this week drag?  Or was it just me?
Woof.  I'm ready for the weekend.
So let's get to it, so we can kick our feet up and relax!

1.

Justin started to get irritated from the baking soda so he's back to normal deodorant half of the time.  This is a common complaint with natural deodorant, so I'll look for a new option for him.  I'm still in love.

The Toothpaste ROCKS.  We are still using it morning and night and don't have plans to switch back.

2.
Follow Up from Mother's Day

The spiralizer is awesome, I just need the zucchini to get bigger!  They are so skinny that half the zoodles are an inch long.  Bummer

Ringly fell flat.  I'm unimpressed.
I ordered this bracelet and when it arrived it was really yellow.  So I exchanged it for this one.  Only Ringly processed it as a return. Their customer service wasn't awesome either, so I decided to keep looking for something else.

3,
Justin's Father's Day gift has really knocked it out of the ballpark.  I hired two high school boys to do some yard work.

I love the progress!

This week they are weeding and re-rocking our backyard gardens.  It makes a world of difference!!

4.
The Pressure Washer

We bought Justin a pressure washer for his birthday 3 years ago.  We NEVER EVEN USED IT.  We loaned it to his brother to wash his deck and it hasn't worked since.  I recently took it to a small engine repair place and a MONTH later we officially can't fix it.

So Justin bought a new one last night.

This weekend that sucker will be busy - back patio, house exterior, driveway, etc, etc, etc.

Which brings me to

5.
Our back patio!!

Our new favorite place.  It's not finished, but it's 1000 x's better than before.

To Lincoln and Back Again

After 4 days of driving and 1 day in Lincoln, NE, I am so happy to be sleeping in my own bed again!

Nebraska has my heart and I had the best 40 hours being back.

While Justin and I were celebrating at a wedding, our lil guy was LOVING his time with his cousin and Grandma in Cheyenne.

Have I mentioned how much I love Rent the Runway?  Because I do.
The dress was FANTASTIC!

Of course, no visit to NE is complete without a selfie session with my bestie :)

Ugh, I'm ready to drive back already.  Only this time I'll stay for a week.  Or a month ;)

Father's Day Gift Ideas

This year for Father's Day, #wiggydiggy and I put our heads together and came up with a few great ideas.

First Up - Echo

Echo Dot - Currently on sale for $39.99!

We decided on the tower first.  Once the Sonos App (blu-tooth speakers) is fully integrated with Amazon, we'll order the Dot.

The gift arrived already and Justin loves it!

Second - Hiring Out the Yard Work

This one was huge.  Justin has been busting his butt at work and when he gets home the last thing he wants to do is spend more time away from his family.

We have a lot of projects that we want to get down this year (re-rock gardens, pull up gardens, replating, etc) and not a lot of free time.  I turned to our local Facebook Buy/Sell/Trade page and found some high school boys that are looking for extra cash.  They are excited to earn some Benjamin's and we're excited to have less projects to tackle!

The absolute best part is knowing we get to spend our weekend playing in the yard with #wiggydiggy.

Third - Dad's Day

This is obvious, but after my fantastic Mother's Day I really want to repay the favor.
Justin is such a hands on dad - most weeks I'm able to get chores and errands done without a kid in tow.  So for Father's Day I'll make sure that he gets to wander his favorite home improvement store sans kid.  I'm even extending his weekend by hiring a baby sitter on Monday night.

We can't wait to celebrate you Justin!!

Weekend Happenings

W tore down our "three season room"!!  It was really a pergola that was enclosed and was more or less a 'death trap' and nothing but unusable space.  I am SO happy to have more backyard space now!

I also planted the window boxes and attempted to plant some seeds in some of our larger planters.  We'll see if anything blooms.

We spent our entire evening out there last night and I am in LOVE with the space.  Now it's just time to spruce it up!

Five on Friday - Natural Product Edition

I had a kick in my pants last weekend when I read the ingredients in my deodorant.
ALUMINIUM.

I know this.  I've heard about it for years.  I just never paid any attention to it.
Most of the urban legends of breast cancer and alzheimer's have been mostly debunked by science, but it still makes my skin crawl.

So we made the switch to natural deodorant!

1.
Schmidt's Deodorant

I picked up our first one from a local Natural Grocers.
No smell from either of us, but we do sweat more than before. This is because there is no Aluminium blocking the glands.  But there is no BO smell!

Justin stole the Lime from me for himself so I ordered the Lavender.  My next order is the Ylang-Ylang for me and Cedarwood for Justin.

2.
My Magic Mud Toothpaste

When I bought the deodorant, I saw some Activated Charcoal a few shelves over.  I've read about the benefits for brushing your teeth so I decided to give it a try.
Minus the shock of a black mouth, I love it!  Justin decided to give it a try to, so I'll report back on how we like it after a week or so of use.  (So far, I feel like my mouth is cleaner than with regular toothpaste)

3.
Apple Cider Vinegar

This has been making the rounds on the internet and Pinterest for a while now.  I deicded to give it a whirl while we are trying other natural products.

So now I'm using it in various ways to see if I see any difference.

4.

I think I've mentioned them before - but this is a natural beauty product company.  I busted out the Purifier Skin stick after we had some bug bites one evening.  I really liked it!  I feel better using an all natural solution vs one full of chemicals on #wiggydiggy and myself.

Next up - I want to try the Go West face mask and Just Chillin skin stick.  I think that skin stick will be great this summer!

5.
My Essential Oil trade off

I really enjoy my Young Living oils, but I felt like I was wasn't getting the best bang for my buck when I used my diffusers.

So....I picked up the scents I liked at TJMaxx for cheap to use in the diffuser only.  Now I can save my Young Living oils are for topical uses!

We love these diffusers in our bedrooms.

Have a Happy Friday!

#wiggydiggy | 2 1/2!

My handsome boy, you are 2 1/2 years old!  You are smart and so so funny.  I love that you want to snuggle in bed with us every morning before we get up for the day.

I have no clue on height or weight, but I can say that you seem to get taller every time I look at you.

You eat OK.  Your appetite waxes and wanes like mine so I don't push food on you when you aren't hungry.  Though you do eat one bite of veggies at dinner every night #familyrule.   You still love to drink our 'juice', so I know you get plenty of fruits and veggies.

Sleep is still wonderful.  I do wish you'd sleep a little longer in the mornings (6AM wake up) but our morning snuggles are some of my favorite moments of the day.  Your nap is still around 2 hours and your bedtime has seemed to settle closer to 8PM the past few weeks.

You can count to 30!  You know all of your colors, letters, numbers and most shapes.  (I had to google trapezoid, so that may be on me.  Haha)

Potty training went quickly and you've been rocking it these past few months.  Now that it's warmer outside, you love to pee outside!!  Crack me up every time.  You haven't worn a pull up for naps in.....a month?  6 weeks?  It's been a while.  You also wake up dry 90% of the time, but I'm in no rush to totally toss night time diapers just yet.

You are a total sports fanatic and are SO good at golf!  You can swing that club both left AND right handed and nail the ball.  #naturalathlete
That is 100% from your daddy :)

You love basketball and play for a solid 30 minutes every day.  You ask us to play with you every chance you get too.

You have the very best laugh.  I love it so much.

Happy half birthday bug.  We love you to the moon and back.

Our family headed north to the Flathead Valley to spend some time away from home and visit Glacier National Park.

We spent Saturday in Bigfork checking out their White Water Festival.  It was a blast!
Sunday we headed into Glacier and spent the afternoon playing in a park in Kalispell.
Monday we headed back into Glacier before heading home.
